On Saturday, April 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Oregon State University will host an Out of the Darkness Walk in efforts to prevent suicide and bring hope to those affected.
The event will take place on OSU campus at SEC Plaza, located at 2501 SW Jefferson Way, and will include the walk through Corvallis, an Honor Bead Ceremony, guest speakers, a resource fair, memorials, and other healing activities.
You can be a part of this special day by registering for the in-person event, sharing inspirational or memorial posts on social media with the hashtag #BeavsStopSuicide, contributing to the Activities of Hope and Healing, fundraise via this page, or by taking charge of your mental health and engaging in self-care activities.

OSU was the very first school in Oregon to host an Out of the Darkness walk. To date, OSU has raised nearly $7,000 of this year’s $10,000 goal – and there is still time for you to help. If you cannot attend the event in-person, you can join here virtually at 11:00 a.m. the day of the event.
Bonus: If you raise $100 by April 9, you will receive an official Out of the Darkness t-shirt. Other prizes are available for further fundraising.
For more information or for disability accommodations, contact Tessie Webster-Henry at tess.websterhenry@oregonstate.edu. Note: Disability accommodation requests must be submitted by March 29.
This event is made possible through the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention. If you or someone you know is in need of emotional help, call 800-273-8255 or text TALK to 741741.
