Subscribe to Strengthen and Continue Our Services
The events brought in a total of $140 in donations and four new monthly subscribers. I’m sure this looks like small potatoes in comparison to other community efforts, but it’s certainly something we cherish at The Advocate. Our events have always been free to the public, meaning the profits we make are purely due to community support and satisfaction. These profits go directly to staff funds and the staff volunteers and moderators who spend hours organizing and helping to run the events.
With continued support from donors and subscribers, we will continue to improve our services at every level — offering deeper long-form print pieces, and more daily news online. Who knows, maybe someday we can even have that podcast we’ve been dreaming about — not to mention, better social media upkeep.
If you care about local news that represents you and the greater Corvallis community, please don’t be a bystander to businesses who solely advertise on Facebook. Fight to keep our local dollars in the local market. We can all do our part to stand up and keep our business leaders accountable. Ask your favorite local businesses to support our home brewed journalism.
