All but Small Part of Oregon Still in Drought

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, two counties — Tillamook and Clatsop — are now drought-free thanks to the rainfall we’ve been getting. Oregon has been experiencing increased levels of drought since the end of April 2021.

As of Nov. 4, the increased rainfall has freed the northwestern tip of Oregon from drought. However, this still leaves around 98% of the state in Moderate-level or worse drought conditions. Around a quarter of the state is so dry it falls into the highest level of drought: Exceptional.

The active storm that moved into the Pacific Northwest in October, however, has helped alleviate dry conditions in both Oregon and Washington.
