The Benton Community Foundation recently gathered together their nonprofit partners, supporters and community members to celebrate their annual community grants giving cycle at the Benton County Historical Society Philomath Museum. This year’s grants total $284,785, more than any previous year.
This year’s funding was provided by generous supporters and community efforts, including BCF community grants funds, a $20,000 anonymous donation, just over $2,800 from BCF’s Community Giving Fund, $25,000 of BCF’s operating funds to support equity, diversity and inclusion grantmaking, and $129,312 from partners. Thanks in part to these combined efforts, BCF was able to support 42 local nonprofit organizations. This funding reached organizations across the county, including Jeni’s Place Alsea Food Bank, South Benton Food Pantry, and Hunters of Color, just to name a few.
During the program, BCF recognized the Alice Mills Morrow Community Grant Fund with the 2023 Benton Community Foundation Community Giving Recognition. This recognition honors an individual or family for their dedication and commitment to growing the impact of the BCF Community Grants Program.
The foundation has invested more than $12.5 million in grants and scholarships to Benton County since its founding in 1953. A summary of recent grantees is available on their website.
