Benton County bivalent vaccines

Benton County has stable shipments of the bivalent Covid vaccine for those interested and eligible.

According to the Food and Drug Administration: “The bivalent COVID-19 vaccines include a component of the original virus strain to provide broad protection against COVID-19 and a component of the omicron variant to provide better protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant… A bivalent COVID-19 vaccine may also be referred to as ‘updated’ COVID-19 vaccine booster dose.”

A person is considered eligible for a bivalent booster if they are 12-years-old or older, and if at least two months have passed since their most recent Covid vaccination, regardless of what type of vaccines previously administered or how many boosters have previously been received.

For people getting initial vaccinations, be aware that Moderna vaccines are in limited supply but Pfizer vaccines are readily available.

No appointments are needed for these vaccines. All vaccines are free to the public, no health insurance required, no identification required. You do not have to be a resident of Oregon to receive these vaccines.
