Benton County, Healthcare Providers to Distribute Pediatric Vaccine

The Benton County Health Department has received a small amount of the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine and plans to shift its focus to holding vaccine clinics aimed towards families with kids in need of vaccination.

The Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup announced on Tuesday, Nov. 2, that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was safe for 5-11-year-olds to receive. The FDA and CDC also affirm that the vaccine is safe for that age group as well.

The County Health Department will partner with schools as well as pediatricians in order to help get as many kids vaccinated as they can. Since there is such high demand and such limited supply, the County Health Vaccine Clinics will focus on families experiencing barriers to access.
