Benton County released its natural hazard progress report on Monday, Nov. 1.
This report was adopted by a resolution of the Benton County Board of Commissioners in July of 2016. The report is a community effort that aims to steer committee decisions and discussions, examining potential natural hazards and how to mitigate them as much as possible.
The hazard report was prepared in accordance with 44 Code of Federal Regulations Part 201 and was approved by both the State Hazard Mitigation Officer and FEMA Region X. Issues that are addressed in the report include responses to potential earthquakes, flooding and landslides, winter and wind storms, wildfires, droughts, and multi-hazard events.
This is an annual report that aims to make continual progress towards completing the steps outlined in the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan.
