Benton, Linn Counties Still Extreme Risk Level

Gov. Kate Brown announced that some indoor activities can resume provided limited capacity is adhered to. Starting on Friday of this week, gyms and movie theaters may reopen to a maximum of six people within 500 square feet. For smaller spaces – particularly in gyms the guidelines allow for one-on-one customer experiences which would allow for a personal trainer and a single customer.

Indoor dining is still not allowed for counties in the Extreme Risk category, which includes Benton and Linn counties for at least another two weeks. Counties which will be changing risk levels include Grant which is now considered Moderate Risk, and Tillamook and Curry which will now be moved to Lower Risk.

“We have seen over the last several weeks that Oregonians have largely complied with risk levels to the point that we have not seen a surge in hospitalizations that would have jeopardized hospital capacity,” Brown said in a statement. This means we are able to make these adjustments.”
