City Budget Release, Comment Times Begin

The City of Corvallis has released its budget for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

The budget comes from an 18 member Budget Commission evenly divided between Council members and community members. Items are divided by the type of fund which will pay for them – General Fund, Special Revenue Funds, Enterprise Funds, Internal Service Funds, Trust and Agency Fund, Debt Service Fund, and Capital Projects Funds. Taxes and fees make up the majority of the money the city will use over the course of the year.

In the coming fiscal year, of the $65,562,600 in the General Fund, about 36% or $23,804,600 is dedicated to keeping city services like Public Works, the library, and the police funded. The other 64% or $41,758,000 is discretionary revenue.

If you’re interested, you can read the full report here.
