Piano in the Vineyard. Lumos Wine Co., 24000 Cardwell Hill Road, Philomath. 6:30 p.m. $25. The award-winning Lumos Winery is the setting for an enchanted evening of classical piano music. Watch the sun set over Mary’s Peak as pianist Matt Cooper performs a concert featuring a blend of European classics and American jazz. His concert will include Debussy, Ravel, Scarlatti, Chopin and Gershwin as well as jazz pieces by Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Billy Strayhorn, and other composers of the Great American Songbook. There will be an outdoor main stage with bands from near and far. Workshops and more intimate performances will be held inside the Corvallis Arts Center and others nearby venues. The day will include Ceili dancing, Celtic arts and crafts, Celtic history and genealogy, and children’s activities. Participatory workshops will include instrument playing, singing and dancing. Fiechter House Open House. William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, Finley Refuge Rd., Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 2p.m. Donations Welcomed. The John Fiechter House, also known as Failing Cottage, is believed to be the oldest house in Benton County. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors to the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge will be able to visit and tour this historic 1855 pioneer house every Saturday, July 8 through Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and learn the history of one of Benton county’s early families. The Fiechter House is located on Finley Refuge Road, across from the red Cabell barn. Visitors can also stop in at the refuge’s Nature Store for directions.
