Corvallis Calendar: Friday Afternoon to Monday Evening

Friday, August 18 

Corvallis Corkscrew. Corvallis Municipal Airport, 5695 SW Airport Ave., Corvallis. 8 a.m. Free. The annual Corvallis Corkscrew Aerobatics Competition returns to the Corvallis Airport 17-19! First flight is set to start between 8-8:30am. Flying will go until about 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday and around 12 p.m. on Saturday. Enjoy this free public event and see some of the nation’s top aerobatic pilots put their high-performance airplanes through the rigors of a competition aerobatic sequences. Pilots travel from all over the Western states and Canada to compete in 5 categories (Primary, Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, and Unlimited) and the pilot who flies with the greatest precision in their respective categories will take home the top prize. 2023 Oregon Senior Games. Various Locations in the Greater Corvallis Area, Corvallis. 8 a.m. Various Entry Fees. Athletes ages 50+ (National Senior Games qualifying age) can compete in several sports offered. The Oregon Senior Games are a great chance to test your mettle against other seniors while enjoying a getaway to beautiful Corvallis, Oregon. Whether you’re a super-competitive athlete or just someone looking to stay active, the Oregon Senior Games is a great event to add to your must-do list! Weekend One (Aug. 10-13) includes Archery, Bowling, Golf, Pickleball, Power Walk, Race Walk, Racquetball, Table Tennis, and Track & Field. Weekend Two (Aug. 17-20) includes Disc Golf, Softball, Swimming, and Tennis Cycling Time Trial, and 5k/10k Road Races. Summer Farm Tours. Terra Bella Farm, 6959 Northeast Elliott Circle, Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. $5 – $10. Experience Terra Bella Farm’s eleven acres during the beautiful summer season. Meet and interact with Terra Bella’s alpacas, dwarf goats, and chickens, including feeding them, petting them, and brushing them. There are multiple time slots per day available for tours. Fun Friday Goat Yoga. No Regrets Flower Farm & Animal Sanctuary, 26641 Bellfountain Rd., Monroe. 6 p.m. $25.  Join a one-off goat yoga session every Friday night, June 9 through Aug. 25, 2023! Goat Yoga is part yoga, part animal-assisted therapy, and part beautiful views and loving animals. It’s about disconnecting from day-to-day stress, illness or depression and focusing on happy vibes. No yoga experience is needed. Join in on a Goat Yoga class at No Regrets Farm Sanctuary in Monroe, located between Eugene and Corvallis. Summer Friday Night Concert Series: Fionnghal. Cardwell Hill Cellars, 24241 Cardwell Hill Dr., Philomath. 6 p.m. $10. Join Cardwell Hill Cellars for a Friday night concert. Concerts are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the suggested check-in time is 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will be cheese, salami, crackers, and Burst’s Chocolates available for purchase (as well as wine, of course). Live Music at Lumos: Zingaresca Esemble. Lumos Wine Co., 24000 Cardwell Hill Dr., Philomath. 6 p.m. –  8 p.m. $20. Join Lumos Wine Co. for live music in the afternoons and evenings during the summer. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair and enjoy some wine and tunes. Join us under the oaks for a concert on Friday, August 18th at 6:00pm. Doors open at 5:00pm. Fiechter House Open House. William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge, Finley Refuge Rd., Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 2p.m. Donations Welcomed. The John Fiechter House, also known as Failing Cottage, is believed to be the oldest house in Benton County. It’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors to the William L. Finley National Wildlife Refuge will be able to visit and tour this historic 1855 pioneer house every Saturday, July 8 through Sept. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and learn the history of one of Benton county’s early families. The Fiechter House is located on Finley Refuge Road, across from the red Cabell barn. Visitors can also stop in at the refuge’s Nature Store for directions. Reser Stadium Open House. Reser Stadium, 660 SW 26th Street, Corvallis. 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Free. The public is invited to tour Oregon State University’s completed Reser Stadium during an open house Aug. 19. On Saturday, Aug. 19, Oregon State Athletics, in conjunction with Hoffman Construction, is excited to open Reser Stadium to the public for the first time since construction’s completion. The public is invited to check it out from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The entire west side of the stadium will be open to the public and will include open concession stands with sampling and items available to purchase for concessions. OSU staff will be stationed throughout the west side to answer all your questions. There will be signage at various locations on the concourse with QR codes to help fans get acquainted with the completed side of the stadium. Willamette Grange 100 Year Birthday Celebration. Willamette Grange, 27555 Greenberry Rd, Corvallis. 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Free. The Willamette Grange Hall has been in existence for 100 years. This beautiful hall is undergoing restoration. Come celebrate this wonderful milestone and view the newly painted hall with its beautifully restored front doors.
