Corn Maze & Haunted Maze. Melon Shack, NE Garden Ave at NE Highway 20, Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. $4 – $16. The melon Shack annual harvest actives will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday September 23rd! This year’s activities will be open seven days a week 10:00 am – 6:00 p.m. Activities include Pumpkin patch (over 6 acres of pumpkins), Day maze w/trivia (over 4 miles of trail) – $6 (last entry into day maze is 5 p.m.), Super Slide – free, & Hay fort – free. The following activities will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.: Hayride – $4 pp & Train ride (3 & under can’t ride alone) – $4 pp. The Melon Shack haunted corn maze will open on Friday September 29th – October 28th from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Integrative Biology Seminar – Swati Patel, PhD. Virtual. 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Swati Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department here at OSU. She works at the intersection of mathematics and population biology.  In particular, Swati works on modeling ecological interactions between species and coupling these processes to the evolutionary genetic processes that happen within species.  She uses these models in a variety of contexts to study how species persist and more generally, how diversity is maintained.  Her work centers on developing and using mathematical theory to understand fundamental biological questions.
