Music à la Carte: Opus Magnum, classical duo of voice and piano, Nathaniel Kondrat, bass, and Ana Maria Lupu, piano. American bass vocalist Nathaniel Kondrat studied voice at Oregon State University, receiving a B.A. in music in 2008. He went on to receive a master’s degree in music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2011. An enthusiastic recitalist, Kondrat’s repertoire includes Shubert, Schumann, Williams, Beethoven, and Finzi. He was a finalist at the NAATSA singing competition in Orlando, Florida in 2014, and has participated in master classes with Sir Thomas Allen, Nathan Gunn, and Fracois le Roux. Kondrat was accepted into the Acadamie Musicale de Villecroze in 2014 and received a scholarship to work with Stephen Stubbs in the Accademia D’amore. In 2018, he was a prize winner at the Rheinsbert Castle International Competition in Germany, where he now resides. C3 GameCon. Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Avenue, Corvallis. 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. $12 – $27. Enjoy two days of cosplay, RPGs, fanart and more on Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17, 2024. Expect multiple cosplay contests, live tabletop gaming, and local vendors. Tate, a successful 1970s punk rock star meets up with his beloved bandmate, Glenn in the afterlife where the two are given a chance to revisit their shared career and friendship. As they relive moments from the past, they discover their sometimes clashing perspectives on the choices they made. This new play is written, directed, and designed by OSU students and explores the complexity of friendship and art while celebrating the music and spirit of the early punk scene. There is no reserved seating. Food and drink will be available to purchase before showtime. This production is directed by OSU student Miranda Lenore and features an original script written by OSU student Sophie Brown. The cast features OSU students Austin Crowell (Tate Luna), Will Gaston (Glenn Ravager), and Yuri Sokolov (Romona Banks). Outdoor markets in Corvallis and Albany are run by Corvallis-Albany Farmers’ Markets. The Corvallis Indoor Winter Market is one of western Oregon’s oldest weekly indoor winter markets.
