Drop Spindle Demonstration. Corvallis Museum. 411 SW 2nd St Corvallis. 1 – 3 pm. Learn about the history of textile spinning and witness a live demonstration from Bellwether Wool Company. One of the simplest tools for spinning is a called a drop spindle. People have been spinning fiber for thousands of years using this ancient tool. On display this month in the Louis C Raymond exhibit in Corvallis Museum is an example of a drop spindle from Colombia, estimated to be over 400 years old.
