Historic Preservation Month: Avery-Helm Historic District Tour. 5th St. & Jefferson Ave., Corvallis. 4 p.m. The Avery-Helm neighborhood is part of the Joseph C. Avery land claim filed in 1845. It includes 9 full blocks and ten partial blocks laid out on a grid system. The historic houses remaining in the district present a window into the domestic aspects of the city’s development from 1870 to 1949. Little Listeners Storytime at the Monroe Community Library. Historic Preservation Month: Owens Farm House Tour and Walk. Owens Farm, 3458-4776 Pacific Hwy W, Corvallis. 4 p.m. Free. Learn about the Knotts-Owens family, their influence in Benton County, uses of the farm over time, and hear about the exciting vision for this property in the future. This tour will include a brief look inside the historic Owens Farm House. Dress for the weather and bring snacks and water. Browse fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as other produce from a variety of vendors every Tuesday evening from May 2, 2023 to Oct. 31, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be vendors selling animal products, vegan desserts, gluten free items, crafts, drinks, jams, pickles, plants, mushrooms, plants and more. Many items are ready to eat.
