Teal Co-operative Art Gallery. Downtown Corvallis, 328 SW Second Street, Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Teal Co-operative Art Gallery has a reputation as the place to shop for hand-crafted, unique, made-in-Oregon gifts. Each year their team of dedicated Oregon artists transform an otherwise vacant and lifeless store front into a world of color, light and beauty, open for business during the months of November and December. On display and for sale are some of the finest works in fiber, leather, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, wood work, mixed media, paper, and soap that the central Willamette Valley has to offer. A portion of the Gallery’s sales is donated to schools and programs in the community. This year the Bessie Coleman Elementary School in Corvallis will be the recipient of the Gallery’s 2023 Charitable Donation. Visit https://www.tealartistcoop.com/ for more info.

Preschool Storytime. Main Meeting Room, 645 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 10:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Free. Storytime is offered year-round as a drop-in program: first come, first served. Space is limited due to the room capacity and to provide a positive, safe environment for all. Children must be accompanied by a grown-up. Many lasting friendships start at Storytime. Pastega Christmas Light Display. Benton County Event Center & Fairgrounds, 110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis. 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. From 1981, Mario Pastega had Ole create christmas scenes and the place them in the field surrounding the PepsiCola Bottling plant. Scenes and characters were added each year and community members contributed their displays. When Mario passed away in 20 and the firm was sold, it was evident to the Pastegas that they wanted to continue the Christmas display.  Community outreach had individuals or families adopt the weather beaten pieces and return them refurbished to the new home of the display to Benton County fairgrounds on 53rd St.Since the beginning Pastega Christmas display continues to survive and thrive with the help of many volunteers and businesses in our community who have given of their time and talents as well as donations of money and/or materials. Although our display is FREE and non-commercial, the Pastega Christmas Light Display encourages canned food donations for the needy in our local communities.

Friday, December 1

Downtown Corvallis Active Alley. Madison Avenue, 251 SW Madison Avenue, Corvallis. Dec. 1st  & Dec. 2nd. Free. Partners Lee Eckroth and Tony Pappas have envisioned “Active Alleys” for downtown Corvallis: alleyways that are clean, free of trash cans and other obstructions, open to the public, and walkable. They have received a community enhancement grant to demonstrate this concept. The chosen alley, located near 251 SW Madison Ave. in downtown Corvallis, will be available for public viewing and use on Dec. 1 at 4 p.m. through Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. and will coincide with Winter’s Eve Corvallis. Winter’s Eve Corvallis. Downtown Corvallis, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., $40-$45. Join the Assistance League of Corvallis for a magical evening of shopping, delicious food and drink, raffles, and a supreme silent auction. The Assistance League is pleased to present this festive holiday celebration in conjunction with Corvallis merchants. The evening includes exclusive shopping discounts, fine food sampling, and Oregon beer, wine and coffee. The event takes place in an elegant, heated tent with a fabulous silent auction, popular Assistance League food mixes, and cards and prints from Jan Roberts-Dominguez. Hill Top Big Band. Old World Deli, 341 SW 2nd St, Corvallis. 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Free. The Hilltop Big Band has been performing in and around Corvallis, Oregon since 1988. They perform a wide variety of big band arrangements, from the timeless classics of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton and Woody Herman to more modern arrangements.
