Teal Co-operative Art Gallery. Downtown Corvallis, 328 SW Second Street, Corvallis. 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Teal Co-operative Art Gallery has a reputation as the place to shop for hand-crafted, unique, made-in-Oregon gifts. Each year their team of dedicated Oregon artists transform an otherwise vacant and lifeless store front into a world of color, light and beauty, open for business during the months of November and December. On display and for sale are some of the finest works in fiber, leather, pottery, jewelry, glass, metal, wood work, mixed media, paper, and soap that the central Willamette Valley has to offer. A portion of the Gallery’s sales is donated to schools and programs in the community. Preschool Storytime. Main Meeting Room, 645 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 10:30 a,m. – 11 a.m. Free. Preschool storytime is for children 3-5 years old and happens every Thursday from 10:30-11:00 AM. Storytime is offered year-round as a drop-in program: first come, first served. Space is limited due to the room capacity and to provide a positive, safe environment for all. Children must be accompanied by a grown-up. Many lasting friendships start at Storytime!
Squishtivities at the Monroe Community Library. Monroe Large Meeting Room, 380 N 5th St., Monroe. 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Free. This event takes place at the Monroe Community Library. Held once a month for parents and/or caregivers and children of any age, (adults must attend with their youth). Create, play, and learn with sensory play, exploration & crafts. Corvallis Arts Walk. Downtown Corvallis, Corvallis. 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Free. Visit downtown Corvallis to tour the working studios of our local artists. The Corvallis Arts Walk (CAW) is a grass-roots organized art walk that takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month in downtown Corvallis from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Galleries, studios, arts and crafts stores and the occasional pop-up keep their doors open late to host an art-related event or demonstration. Pastega Christmas Light Display. Benton County Event Center & Fairgrounds, 110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis. 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. From 1981, Mario Pastega had Ole create christmas scenes and the place them in the field surrounding the PepsiCola Bottling plant. Scenes and characters were added each year and community members contributed their displays. When Mario passed away in 20 and the firm was sold, it was evident to the Pastegas that they wanted to continue the Christmas display. Community outreach had individuals or families adopt the weather beaten pieces and return them refurbished to the new home of the display to Benton County fairgrounds on 53rd St.Since the beginning Pastega Christmas display continues to survive and thrive with the help of many volunteers and businesses in our community who have given of their time and talents as well as donations of money and/or materials. Although our display is FREE and non-commercial, the Pastega Christmas Light Display encourages canned food donations for the needy in our local communities.
