As is our election-time custom, we at The Advocate partnered with City Club of Corvallis to host these debates, and we hope you find them helpful in choosing how you’ll vote.
More active Corvallis election than usual
This year’s Corvallis City Council election is unusually active – there are 17 candidates running for nine seats, and six of those seats are contested among 14 candidates. The crowded field issues from a number of factors – four incumbents have declined to seek reelection, there’s a slate of five candidates running on what they’re calling the Grassroots Slate, and another two candidates have also joined the fray.
Most, but not all the remaining incumbents are being challenged this year, which is unusual in our fair burg.
