CPD Due for Reaccreditation, Community Feedback Encouraged

The Corvallis Police Department is due for undergoing a reaccreditation process, which will be administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. If reaccredited, this will ensure that Corvallis Police comply with standards in “policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.”

This assessment also involves community feedback, so community members are encouraged to offer their input.

To attend the virtual meeting — to be held on Monday, Dec. 6, at 4:30 p.m. — send your name and email address to CPD.accreditation@corvallisoregon.gov. Make sure to send your email out before noon on Dec. 3.

There will also be a call-in session scheduled on Dec. 6 between 1 and 3 p.m. Call 541-766-6954 if you’d prefer to leave a comment via phone. Phone messages should be kept under five minutes long and do need to be about the Corvallis Police Department’s ability to meet CALEA’s standard.

For more information about those standards, call Accreditation Manager Laurie Jackson at 541-766-6778.

Lastly, you can write your comments and mail them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320, Gainesville, Virginia 20155.
