Join theatre director and craftsperson Sanaya Forbes as she walks workshop participants through the process of creating theatrical masks from plaster and paperclay. She’ll bring along samples of her own work for examination, finished masks which will soon appear onstage in the Majestic Theatre’s Fall Mainstage production of Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play.
Forbes is the director of the upcoming Majestic Theatre production of Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play. She holds BAs in both Theater and Cognitive Science from UC San Diego. She was a professional theater technician for a number of years but currently works as a corporate graphic designer so she has the time and money to do theatre for fun. She’s adept in a variety of handcrafts including pottery, fiber arts, miniature-making, and masks.
