Community Involvement and Diversity Advisory Board. 4 p.m. Free. Cooks and Books: Local and Seasonal Ingredients. Corvallis Community Center, 2601 NW Tyler Ave., Corvallis. 5 p.m.  The theme for January is local and seasonal ingredients and will feature recipes and demonstration from local chef Sarah Booth of The Naked Crepe. Sarah will focus on using winter squash in surprising ways, while incorporating other ingredients available locally in the winter. School Board Special Meeting. 6:30 p.m. Free. All school board meetings, work sessions, and retreats are open to the public, but executive sessions are not open to the public. Rainbow Social Hour. 3 p.m. Meets 2nd & 4th Fridays from 3-5 PM at Corvallis Community Center. A safe, social space for LGBTQIA+ adults of any age. Teen Takeover: Winter Party. Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 6:30 p.m. Free. Teens in grades 6-12 take over the library after it closes on the 3rd Friday of the month. Snacks and materials provided. In January, teens can watch Frozen (PG) while making wintry crafts and enjoying a hot cocoa, chai, and other cozy snacks. Snacks and art supplies provided. The Wolves. Majestic Theatre, 115 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. 7:30 p.m. $14-$16. Pulitzer Prize finalist The Wolves is the debut play of up-and-coming playwright Sarah DeLappe, featuring an all-woman cast (comprised of nine adolescents and one briefly-seen adult).From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the Wolves, a 9-member girls’ soccer team, navigate big questions and wage personal battles with their warrior determination and strength. As they warm-up for each game, we see their personalities, connections, conflicts, love, grief, and power that makes them the Wolves. Content Warning: This production features strong language, mature themes and adult language including characters in honest discussions about sex, politics, abortion, eating disorders and death. The Muddy Souls. Bombs Away Café, 2527 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis. 9 p.m. $10. The Muddy Souls are a 5-piece, progressive bluegrass band formed in Eugene, Oregon in 2018. Their ever-growing sound is a beautifully fresh take on an age-old genre of music. Having four different songwriters and singers in the band, their sound encompasses a wide variety of influences. Traditional bluegrass, folk, jam and improvisational music, and jazz just to name a few.
