The Corvallis School District is hosting its fifth annual Back-to-School Health & Resource Fair on Friday, August 22, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The location will be Linus Pauling Middle School.
It’s a free event and is open to anyone in the community. To make the whole thing happen, the school district is collaborating with Benton County Health Services, Samaritan Health Services, Casa Latinos Unidos, and InterCommunity Health Network Coordinated Care Organization.
Available services include:
- Operation School Bell (clothing & hygiene kits)
- Dental, vision, & hearing screenings
- Sports physicals
- Kids vaccines
- School registration
- School bus registration
Also included:
- Free lunch (Halal option available)
- Family activities
- Community resources & booths
“By offering these essential health resources, we’re supporting the well-being of students and families so every child starts the 2025–26 school year ready to thrive,” said Assistant Superintendent Melissa Harder. “In line with our Healthy Communities board goal, these services build community care and belonging, and thanks to our partners, they’re available at no cost for the whole family to enjoy.”
For more information on the event, call 541-207-8099 or email viviana.gonzalez@bentoncountyor.gov.
Linus Pauling Middle School is located at 1111 NW Cleveland Ave.
Upcoming Blood Drives
In August, the Red Cross will provide free A1C screening – a test commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes – for all donors who make a successful blood, platelet or plasma donation. Fasting is not required for this test, and donors will be able to view their confidential results one to two weeks after their donation in the Blood Donor App or their donor account at RedCrossBlood.org.
So, schedule a time to give now by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App. Those who come to give Aug. 1-28, 2025, will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. For details on both offers, visit RedCrossBlood.org/Test.
As we’ve often said, the life you save could be someone that you love.
