Hey, if you’re planning to peruse this year’s Fall Festival this weekend, and we suggest you do, there’s a bonus. A library book sale will be happening right across the street.
The Friends & Foundation of the Corvallis-Benton County Library will hold its annual Fall Festival Book Sale Friday through Sunday, Sept. 25-27, in the main meeting room of the library, just across Monroe Avenue from the festival grounds in Central Park in Corvallis.
A team of volunteers at the Friends & Foundation’s warehouse in south Corvallis has been sorting through many boxes of books donated by the community to select the right ones for this sale, says team lead Sally Shaw.
“Currently we’re focused on preparing paperback fiction, non-fiction and children’s books for the Fall Festival Book Sale,” Shaw says. “This popular sale is a favorite with readers wanting to stock up on paperbacks. Buyers can choose from over 4,500 books plus CDs, DVDs and puzzles.”
All adult books will go for $3 per book, or 4 for $10. Children’s books will be $2 per book, or 6 for $10. On Sunday, those prices will be cut in half.
If you have donated $20 or more to the Friends & Foundation in the past year, you can take advantage of early entrance hours, which are noon to 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25. You can donate at the door, or online before the sale at

The sale is open to all on Friday from 3 to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
