The “What is Noise? Fest” – featuring over 35 experimental and noise music acts from Portland to Eugene and all points in between – is coming to the Majestic Theatre on March 31.
From 2 p.m. to midnight, noise enthusiasts will be able to experience earth shattering and ear rattling grooves, as well as art installations, video projections, homemade DIY electronics, a variety of zines, and local artwork for sale.
Highlighting the festival will be a full-scale installation provided by infamous Portland artist and performer, The Halloweener, with video art by the GREASE BEAST, and sound provided by technician Luther Maggot. All events will be held upstairs in the Majestic Lab Theatre and Rehearsal Room.
Although organizer Chris Durnin’s now legendary monthly noise shows are free of charge, this time around attendees are asked to fork over a negligible $5 (the proceeds go to covering the venue). Concessions and food will be available for purchase during the event, which is sponsored by 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Block 15 and Bombs Away Café.
