OSU Presents 67th Annual Hō‘ike

The 67th annual Hō‘ike – formerly known as the Lūʻau, an event that celebrates Hawaiian dance and culture, takes place April 16 at The LaSells Stewart Center, located at 875 SW 26th St on the Oregon State University Corvallis campus.

The name changed this year to more accurately represent the event, which focuses on the performances, although food will continue to be a part of the event. The word hō’ike in Hawaiian means to demonstrate one’s knowledge.

The title of this year’s hō‘ike is “Ke Au O Ka Hula, Hula Over the Years.” It will focus on the history of hula and Hawaii. Doors open at 3:00 p.m. The show begins at 4:00 p.m.  Guests will be provided with a bento box dinner after the show.
Student tickets are $10. Public tickets are $15. The menu includes vegetarian options. To purchase tickets, go to the OSU events page at  https://oregonstate.universitytickets.com/w/event.aspx?id=1343

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, so you can get to know the communities at the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center and the Asian & Pacific Islander (API) Organizations on campus. Find out more here.
