Comparisons, whether it be apples and oranges or your love and a summer’s day, are generally difficult to make. However, Oregon State University fans will be pleased to know that compared to other universities in the state, OSU ranked first for Computer Science and for being the top public university.
Niche, a website that combines reviews and analysis to calculate grades and rankings for places to live and go to school, has spoken. Niche’s website says that what sets it apart is because “Niche is the market leader in connecting colleges and schools with students and families. With in-depth profiles on every school and college in America, over 140 million reviews and ratings, and powerful search and data tools, Niche helps millions of students and families find and enroll in the right school for them.”
So how else does OSU rank?
OSU is ranked second in athletics, student life, and as a party school. Second place is not a bad place to be, but – brace yourselves beaver fans – the reigning champion of these categories is University of Oregon. A devastating blow for sure, but it gets worse.
OSU may not be as liberal as thought, nationally ranking #493 of 1,674. That is not bad, but if this is something you are invested in, prepare your pride. You know what U of O ranks? It’s in 10th place.
The university has other things going for it though.
In the National category, OSU slides in at #40 of 140 for its agricultural sciences, #49 of 222 for Public Health, and #61 of 1,401 for athletics (U of O is sitting at 41).
Curious about other categories or schools? Check out Niche and see how the school compares. Though to save yourself from the very angry ghost of Shakespeare, maybe don’t bring up his poetry into so unsexy a subject.
