Park in the Dark to Haunt Chintimini

This October, the Corvallis Community Center will be hosting a theatrical haunted park experience. C3 is teaming up with the Majestic Theatre and OSU’s Theatre Department to include volunteer actors, makeup artists, props, and costumes.

While details of the actual attractions haven’t been announced — and are contingent on how many volunteers will help out with the event — there will be roving actors and haunted scenes throughout Chintimini Park. It will be a non-contact experience, and groups will, among other COVID-19 protocols, enter five minutes apart from each other.

Park in the Dark is a fundraiser for the Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund. The Fund is geared towards helping Corvallis residents access recreation classes at C3, the Osborn Aquatic Center, and the Majestic.

There will also be drinks and treats provided by the C3 Coffee Leaf Cafe. Park in the Dark will run from 6:30 to 9 p.m on Oct. 29 and 30. Tickets will be $15 at the door, or $10 if you pre-register here

A costume contest is also running until Oct. 20.

Volunteer sign-ups for the event remain open for a variety of positions, from acting to concessions.
