It’s that time of year where lights are going up around town and people are furtively looking through store windows in search of the best gift ever. And that means it is also time for Pastega’s Christmas Light Display at the Benton County Fairgrounds at 110 SW 53rd Street, Corvallis.
Beginning the day after Thanksgiving – November 26 for those not celebrating prilgrims – at 5:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. If you can’t get there this Friday, then you have until December 31 to check this Corvallis tradition out.
Begun in 1981 at the Pepsi Bottling Plant, the display was moved to the Benton County Fairgrounds in 2014 after the death of founder, Mario Pastega. The 250 figures and scenes are maintained by community members who spend thousands of hours to deck the fairgrounds for the benefit of hundreds of guests each year.
Drivers can enter the light show through the Reservoir Avenue entrance. Admission is a canned food item for donation. You can find out more at the City of Corvallis website.
Remember to bring your masks for the safety of all.
