Corvallis’ Parks and Rec Department will be holding a virtual public meeting on November 3 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss updates to the playground at Porter Park. P&R received a small grant, putting the project budget at $150,000.
Porter Park itself has a softball field for adult softball games, walkways, and a small playground. The playground area needs surfacing, according to P&R, and the playground equipment is in need of replacement due to age.
This meeting will focus on the project overview. Site opportunities and constraints, and community needs. Registration is required to attend the meeting.
This meeting will be the first of two public meetings and a survey, which has yet to be posted on the Porter Park page. The second meeting is scheduled for December 8. The final design for the playground will be posted on January 13 after community feedback has been received.
