The remains of kayaker Mariana Dukes were found Friday, April 29. They were down river approximately 75 yards from a fish ladder in Lane County.
Dukes and Joseph Bendix left Ferguson Rd. in a kayak along the Long Tom River on April 22, with plans to end their trip at Monroe City Park. When they were not heard from by the following night, the Benton County Sheriff’s office sent out a Search and Rescue team to look for them.
Bendix’s remains were found April 25 about three miles south of Monroe.
Dukes and Bendix were both from Eugene.
