The Arts Center’s biennial juried exhibition of art from all around Oregon continues, but catch it now, because it goes away in early September. It’s in the Main Gallery. For the Corrine Woodman Gallery, you’ll need to wait until mid month for Kum Ja Lee’s exploration of temporality through the use of transitory light, diverse fibers, and mixed media.
We also have all this month’s, and even some of next month’s classes, workshops and events for The Arts Center, or TAC, so without further, here’s all of it.
Exhibits
MAIN GALLERY: Around Oregon Biennial
Every two years, The Arts Center celebrates work created around Oregon with a juried exhibition in the Main Gallery. Featuring work from established and emerging artists, The Around Oregon Biennial exhibition explores a variety of perspectives from artists living throughout our state. This year’s exhibition was juried by Scott Malbaurn, Executive Director of the Schneider Museum of Art.
Runs until September 6. Click for more information.
CORRINE WOODMAN GALLERY: Beyond Time, Kum Ja Lee
Beyond Time is an immersive installation by Eugene-based artist Kum Ja Lee, presenting a thoughtful exploration of temporality through the use of transitory light, diverse fibers, and mixed media. Lee’s work delves into the multifaceted nature of time and its manifestations in both the natural world and human experience. By weaving together Eastern and Western philosophical concepts, Lee creates a compelling visual dialogue that reflects her cultural identity and artistic process.
The installation transforms the exhibition space into a sensory and tactile environment, encouraging viewers to move through it contemplatively.
Runs August 19 to September 19. Artist Reception set for 5:30 to 7 pm, Thursday, August 21. Click for more information.
