There Will be Animals, Chintimini’s Wildlife Refuge Fundraiser on Friday

Chintimini Wildlife Center is hosting its annual gala fundraiser on Friday evening, and we have to say it’s been a busy year for the good folks at our local wildlife rescue group.

“We have nearly surpassed the total number of patients in 2022, and we are still in the midst of our busy season. This astounding increase has brought moments of triumph and profound challenges. The higher patient numbers mean increased costs, especially in food, staff hours, and medical supplies, straining our limited resources. But amid these numbers and statistics, this means that more injured and vulnerable wildlife have found refuge and hope in our center,” said Catherine Mendez, Executive Director.

All funds raised at the annual gala go directly to provide vital support the wildlife center needs so that they can give the best treatment possible to every animal and provide educational opportunities throughout nine counties.

“This is why ‘Wild Night Out’ is so important. Your support during this event goes a long way. For instance, this year’s admissions can cover a week of food for a single Brown Pelican, provide formula and sustenance for a Western Grey Squirrel, or fund crucial diagnostic testing for a Bobcat. Wild Night Out is not only a time for community; it’s a lifeline for the animals who depend on us,” says Mendez.

When, Where and What to Expect

Guests are invited to indulge in appetizers and drinks while discovering the what Chintimini has achieved over the past year. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet their beloved Animal Ambassadors, featuring a special debut of new ambassadors. This evening is a night of camaraderie, connection, and celebration, all while contributing to the vital cause of saving wildlife.

The highlight of the evening is the live auction, which offers an exclusive opportunity to secure the naming rights for our newest ambassador animal, a female Corn Snake. Also on auction, a private predatory release, and an invite you can share with your friends to Brunch with their Birds.
Folks can attend in person, or you can extend your support through a donation or sponsorship; every contribution counts. The event is open to the public, but CWC encourages guests to secure their tickets beforehand due to limited availability.

The gala runs from 6 to 9 pm, Friday, Sept 22, at the Philomath Scout Lodge. Learn more and purchase tickets here. Admission is $65, but they don’t just save area wildlife, they also have programs for area kids… so, kids, animals… we count it as worthy.
