Thursday’s Corvallis Arts Walk, It’s Beauty, Sea Monsters, Political Collapse, and More

This month’s Corvallis Arts Walk, or CAW, is a study in eclecticism. Self-descriptions from the exhibitors have, shall we say, range. There is light and drama and whimsy. There is political collapse and despair. Some fundraising for children through art purchases will be happening. And there is newness and the return of old favorites.

So, without further ado, here is what is on deck for the Thursday, January 15 Corvallis Arts Walk.

Art in the Valley, 209 SW 2nd Street

Light Fantastic: The Annual Members Show. Light is such an important element in art. It conveys mood, creates drama, and so much more. During this gray season in Oregon, come to the gallery for a chance to lighten up the new year with each artist’s interpretation of the “light fantastic”.

The Arts Center Main Gallery, 700 SW Madison Ave, Open 4-7 pm

Tiny Structures, Big Ideas. Join artists Cal Chiappisi-Lawton and Cayla Skillin-Brauchle for an interwoven performance art event starting at 5:30 PM. They will recreate some of the community’s maquettes (created during a free workshop for all ages at TAC) into life-sized, temporary structures. Spearhunter Wines who will be pouring wine during the reception.

The Arts Center Corrine Woodman Gallery, 700 SW Madison Ave, Open 4-7 pm

Malleable Shield by Cayla Skillin-Brauchle. Malleable Shield is a collection of textile works responding to Skillin-Brauchle’s ever-present feelings of grief, despair, and fear around political collapse, social despondence, and the rapidly deteriorating climate.

The Arts Center Corrine Woodman Gallery II, 700 SW Madison Ave, Open 4-7 pm

Art That Gives Back: Fundraiser for Old Mill Center featuring abstract works by Tom Mayers, a Corvallis-based painter, artist, and photographer. His work explores color, movement, and the forces that shape how we experience the world. All artwork sales from this exhibition directly support Old Mill Center, a local nonprofit organization serving children and families.

The Corridor Gallery, LBCC Benton Center, 757 Polk Ave

Elemental, a focus on earth, fire, water, and air as foundational forces in art and nature. The exhibition runs from January 6 – March 12, 2026.

Corvallis Foundry Gallery, 257 SW Madison Ave Suite 210

A Hint of Now by artist Cedar Sun. Everywhere in the world you can find a little hint of the now, of the ephemeral, the ethereal, the magical. All you have to do is let it seep in, and the infinite nature of the universe starts to take hold of your heart. It is in this way, as we whisper through this life, becoming and dissipating all the while, that we may yet achieve immortality.

Adrienne Fritze Art Studio, 460 SW Madison Ave Suite 12, Second Floor

Little Art by A. Step into a world of small-scale whimsy and abstract play. Little Art by A features an eclectic collection of intimate works by Adrienne Fritze, ranging from 4-by-4-inch pieces to 8-inches in diameter, including both simpler works and what the artist calls Extreme Collage. Also available: hand-penciled, one-of-a-kind photo mat borders designed for 4-by-6-inch photos, offered on white or black base mats, with simple black frames available to mix, match, and make your own. Visit the Wellsher Hallway Gallery, just outside the artist’s studio, during CAW.

LBCC Chinook Hall Gallery, 931 NW Reiman Ave

Student Artist in Residence Show. Each year, two advanced art students are selected by the LBCC Visual Arts Department to create a body of work for exhibition in Chinook Hall on the Corvallis Campus. This year’s featured artists are Mika Winder and Daisy Zambano-Gomez. Winder, based in Albany, explores themes of feminism, horror, and surrealism through drawing, painting, digital art, and doll-making. Zambano-Gomez, a Mexican-American artist, examines sexuality, femininity, and self-expression, sharing her journey to inspire peace and acceptance in others. The exhibition runs from October 2025 through May 2026.

New Morning Bakery, 219 SW 2nd Street

Peter W. Harris, a Eugene based artist who coaches the OSU Men’s Lacrosse Team. This is his second year working with the Beavers, and his first exhibition of works in Corvallis. The collection samples from several of his recent series, offering us with sea monsters, familiar literary characters, and members of the major arcana. His sense of humor mixed with whimsy ties together the broad range of styles and applications of paint and pencil.

Old World Deli, 341 SW 2nd

William Gilmer: Abstraction Art for Abstract Times. William Gilmer is an abstract artist based in Corvallis, Oregon, with over 30 years of experience in graphic design. A graduate of Perry Technical Institute, his background informs a strong sense of composition, color, and visual clarity. His work has been exhibited throughout Corvallis in local businesses, museums, and galleries. William believes art should express the artist’s truth while inviting personal interpretation, and he continues to develop abstract works that foster connection and speak to the soul.

Olivia Rivers Art, 464 SW Madison Ave

Open Studio. Olivia Rivers shares her open studio and showroom for Carbony musical instruments at The Dragon’s Whistle. She paints vivid Celtic scapes, fantasy symbolism, and honors cross cultural depictions of the Goddess.

PashCo Studio, 425 SW Madison Ave, B181

Rock & Roll Art, Memorabilia, Collectibles. Vintage and original art from dozens of artists – concentrating on 60’s and 70’s music venues. Albums and other music collectibles to round out the showcase.

Pegasus Gallery, 312 SW Madison Ave

Moveable Feast of Arts through mid-January. The gallery will be filled with paintings, weaving, collage, photography, prints, ceramics, glass, mosaics, woodwork, wood sculpture, stone sculpture, jewelry, t-shirts, poetry books, greeting cards, and nifty creations of all kinds, ripe for gift giving. The show evolves throughout the holiday months, so pop in periodically to see if you what you want is there!
