All sorts of other things may have gone wrong over the last couple of years, so much that you might well be wondering: are the whales even going to be swimming past the Oregon coast this Spring? Or will they all have died of whale COVID, or have called the flying saucers for a pickup or something?
No, they’re coming, they’re swimming along their usual route down the Pacific coast, and if you head on down, you can see them for yourself. They’re as real and majestic as ever.
Unfortunately, you will indeed have to see them for yourself: state park guides who offered tours in earlier years won’t be available this year. You can, though, not only view the whales passing from the coast on your own, you can even watch them on a YouTube livestream starting March 21, because COVID-19 has made sure that you can do everything from home.
