The 4th Annual Corvallis Guitar Festival will take place in front of a live audience at the Whiteside Theater at 361 SW Madison Ave. in downtown Corvallis, with concerts by two highly accomplished guitarists: Cameron O’Connor on Friday and JIJI on Saturday. General Admission tickets will be $35.
Cameron O’Connor will play acoustic guitar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12. O’Connor has a Master’s degree from Juilliard and a Doctorate from University of Southern California, has won awards at major guitar competitions. He has recently joined the music faculty at Oregon State University. O’Connor will perform music by Wagner and Bach as well as original compositions.
On Saturday, November 13, at 10:00 a.m. Korean guitarist Jiji Kim will teach a master class to four students which the public is invited to audit. At 7:00 p.m., she will perform a solo concert on both acoustic and electric guitar. Kim won First Prize at the 2016 Concert Artists Guild International Competition.
A Cordoba guitar will be raffled off with raffle tickets sold for $10.
