Woman Brought to Albany Hospital Already Dead

A man has been arrested after he reportedly brought a woman to Albany General Hospital who was already deceased.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, on Jan. 21, Charles Golliher, 50, brought Candi Libke, 35, to the hospital. Reports from the office’s Deputy Medical Examiner indicated that her body showed evidence of ongoing abuse, and that she arrived with severe bruising in both eyes and to her head, as well as bruising across her body in various stages of healing.

Golliher, currently a suspect in Libke’s death, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree assault, two counts of strangulation and two counts of fourth-degree assault. Deputies said the two were living together in a vehicle somewhere in Blodgett, Oregon — an unincorporated community in Benton County — and that they were likely in a romantic relationship. It is believed that Libke died in Fort Hoskins Historic Park in Philomath, though the time of death remains unknown.

The investigation is still ongoing with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office; Libke’s family has been notified and is currently cooperating.
