If you’ve missed seeing the smiling faces of the Corvallis City Councilmembers in person, then good news is here. Beginning with the May 2 meeting, the Council will be meeting in-person again for regular meetings and twice-monthly work sessions.
The May 2 meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Downtown Fire Station located at 400 NW Harrison. Please note that the chamber only has seating for about 15 visitors at this time. Also, masks are not required, but are welcome.
If you haven’t missed being in a space with other people, the livestream of Council meetings will also continue – and might be the better option due to limited seating. To attend the meeting virtually, you can sign up here.
Corvallis Public Information Officer Patrick Rollens said, “I’ve been really emphasizing the virtual option for people who’ve been choosing to take advantage of it, because we really did see a big uptick in participation for the webinar link during the pandemic. I know a lot of people [for whom] that’s their preferred method of engaging. So that’s going to still be available for anyone wanting to use that.”
Whether you’re attending in person or virtually, to get on the list of people to speak, contact new City Recorder Alex Downing at either Alex.Downing@corvallisoregon.gov or by phone at 541-766-6729 extension 5075. To ensure a place on the list, contact Downing before 9:00 a.m. the day of the meeting.
If you’d like to make a comment prior to the meeting, you can go to the form available here.
Please note that most other City meetings, such as advisory groups, committees, and commissions, will continue to be held virtually.
