Benton County Holding New Forums for Justice System Program

As we continue to speed our way forward to the eminent domain purchase of 29.53 acres of land sitting about a mile north of downtown, Benton County will begin to hold more community forums concerning the Justice System Improvement Program (JSIP).

The JSIP team has conducted over 30 community events in their effort to determine where the people of Benton County stand on the process of building a new county jail with assorted supporting offices surrounding it. To date, County Commissioners have borrowed approximately $33 million to replace the courthouse and District Attorney offices. Another $55 million has been secured through federal, state, “existing,” and other funding.

On Tuesday, September 13, a forum will be held at Linus Pauling Middle School, located at 1111 NW Cleveland Ave, Corvallis. In this forum, county officials will be speaking to the mental health and crisis response aspects of the JSIP. This forum runs from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Register to attend this forum here

On Wednesday, October 19, another forum will be held at Linus Pauling Middle School, located at 1111 NW Cleveland Ave, Corvallis. In this forum, county officials will be discussing safety, improved accountability, and emergency response. This forum runs from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Register to attend this forum here.
