Power Auto Group and Toys for Tots are partnering with Vina Moses Center to provide gifts this holiday season to Benton County children in need.
Power Auto Group of Corvallis is hosting a “Fill the Truck” toy drive to benefit kids in Benton County in time for Christmas. From December 1-20, 2023 community members can visit Power Auto Group’s car dealership at 705 NW Buchanan Avenue Corvallis to drop off gifts, pledge to buy a gift, or make a donation. Power Auto Group’s toy drive is being organized in partnership with Toys For Tots and Vina Moses Center.
“Power Auto Group is really stepping up to help meet the increased need at this time of year, “ said Ilene McClelland, Executive Director of Vina Moses Center. “Their collaboration with Toys For Tots on a ‘Fill the Truck’ toy drive will help make magic happen for Vina families this year.”
Each year, Toys for Tots and Vina Moses Center collect gifts for more than 1,500 children in Benton County. Vina’s Giving Tree Program also provides for 1,000 centerpiece meals for families.
“Toys For Tots partners with Vina Moses to serve more kids together that either could serve alone,” explained Traci Weston, the Toys For Tots Coordinator of Polk, Marion, Lincoln, Linn, and Benton counties.
The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Holiday Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys, books, and other gifts and distribute them to less fortunate children at Christmastime. Community members drop new, unwrapped toys in collection boxes in their local area. The toys are then sorted and prepared for distribution. Coordinators, with the assistance of volunteers and local organizations, distribute the donated gifts to children in need throughout their local communities.
