Free Legal Services for Local Low-Income Business Owners

The Corvallis-Benton County Economic Development Office has formed a partnership with the Lewis & Clark Small Business Legal Clinic to offer free legal services to low-income business owners in Benton County who’ve been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is funded by the City of Corvallis and Benton County’s allotment of CARES Act funds dedicated to supporting local businesses by the Corvallis City Council and the Benton County Board of Commissioners. It provides as much as eight hours of free legal services for related legal issues, until Dec. 30, 2020.

These services can assist with lease renegotiations, but can also answer questions and offer options on employment law, contract review, and regulatory compliance. SBLC services are available in multiple languages, including Español.

Business owners may fill out a brief intake form. Eligible businesses will be put in contact with the SBLC.

If you have questions about the program, feel free to contact the Economic Development Office at economic.development@corvallisoregon.gov, or via phone 541-766-6423. Visit www.yescorvallis.org/resources for additional information and resources.
