From Bad to Verse: Apartments, Undertaker, High Cows

Apartments

When they named the living units

I don’t know what they spent

But I have to wonder if they knew

Exactly what apart meant

Undertaker

His hobby’s an odd one

And most absurd

Burying innocent ideas

Under mountains of words

High Cows

The cow that jumped over the moon

Is quite the thing and how

Because it was the very first

Evaporated milk cow

The Cycle of Water

The world’s made of sand

If you live on a beach

And water is something

That’s always in reach

But if it should be

That you live on the plains

The water you see

Comes down with the rains

It flows in the rivers

Arising from streams

And fills up the ocean

Or that’s how it seems

And from sea to the plains

It’s easy to see

Evaporation carries it

As humidity

The cycle is fixed

So please don’t upset it

If you get too much

You’ll just have to sweat it

Incomplete

My love of writing

Is undiminished

Despite a lot of

Verses unfinished

Writing Advice

My advice for aspiring writers

Is to the point, not vague

Whatever you do, it’s important to

Avoid cliches, like the plague
