AWPP Grants Awarded: Benton County has awarded more than $20,000 in non-lethal wildlife deterrent grants for 2022. These grants are meant to encourage the residents of the County to rid their property of pests without killing them. Each year, applications are submitted and grants are awarded by merit. Each grant is for no more than $5,000.
This year, Benton County’s Agricultural and Wildlife Protection Program (AWPP) – made up of members of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Oregon State University Extension service, Chintimini Wildlife Center, and County residents – was able to fund several applications.
“We still have reimbursable grant funds up to $5,000 available year-round for Benton County residents who wish to implement non-lethal deterrent and mitigation methods for beavers who may be affecting their property” said Sheanna Steingass, AWPP Coordinator.

Won’t You Be A Neighbor: It might come as a surprise to many Corvallisites, but the majority of our fair city is divided into “Neighborhoods.” If you’d like to know which you live in, whether a new one needs to be organized, and how to interact with your neighborhood association, then check out the well-organized associations page on the City of Corvallis website.
