Starting Today, Benton County Crisis Center Expands Hours, Announces Move Toward Future 24/7 Services

Beginning today, June 1, The Benton County Crisis Center in downtown Corvallis is extending its hours of operation. They will now be open from 8 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday.

The Crisis Center presence downtown means anyone can drop in and ask for services, and get connected to the mental health support they need, free of charge and with no appointment required.

A variety of services are available. It’s a resource for people experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, or substance use challenges. The center offers immediate support, safety planning, treatment options, and community resources. Staff work closely with local first responders, hospitals, and service providers to help people get the right care at the right time.

The county’s crisis services team includes qualified mental health professionals, peer support specialists, and other trained staff who respond with compassion and practical help — meeting people where they are, whether at the center, in the community, at a hospital, or in another safe setting.

Benton County Behavioral Health Division Director Damien Sands and Crisis Programs Manager Hailey Clark are scheduled to present an update to the Benton County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, June 2. Their presentation materials state directly: “We are actively recruiting to reach 24/7 capacity.” The County has added a post to their website seeking overnight staffing.
